Kids Against Crime Online, Inc. (KACO)
Kids Against Crime Online, Inc., (KACO), is committed to helping make the most of your Internet experience within a trusted environment, and respects the privacy of all who visit KACO web sites, especially children. KACO is the sole owner of the information it gathers on its site(s).
This privacy policy discloses how we collect, protect, use and share information gathered about you on the KACO Web sites, and is the same for all of the KACO sites. We hope that this disclosure assists in enhancing your experience on the Internet.
Some KACO projects may be sponsored by commercial companies in which these are always clearly identified on KACO web sites as such. KACO does not accept advertising on its sites. And, KACO does not provide information on individuals to these companies for any commercial or marketing purpose.
Although, KACO does track the number of Visitors to our site, including what those individuals look at, and retains aggregate statistics about this, we never look at the specific usage of our website(s) by identifiable individuals. Industry-standard software is used to create summary statistics, for instance in assessing which information is of most or least interest to Visitors, or in helping to identify system performance, problem areas, or to determine technical design specifications.

Q#1: What types of information are KACO sites collecting, and how are the sites collecting it?
Web sites that are targeted to children age 12 and younger are prohibited by law from collecting more information than they need.
KACO believes it is good policy not to collect personally identifiable information from kids age 12 and younger. Children may surf
www.iSurfSafe.org / (.com) or other KACO sites, and view content, without any personally identifiable information being collected.
Q#2: How does KACO use the personally identifiable information that has been collected?
KACO does not collect personally identifiable information from Guests age 12 and younger.
KACO does not sell information about you.
KACO does not share personally identifiable information for marketing or promotional purposes, or send messages on behalf of another company.

Q#3: Does KACO share information with companies or other organizations that are not part of KACO site(s)?
Because KACO does not wish to collect personal information on kids age 12 and younger, KACO asks that kids age 12 and younger, not provide and/or submit information on any KACO site forms. And asks that only parents, primary caregivers, adult, make email, form submission(s), on KACO sites.
Parents, primary caregivers, can avoid providing personally identifiable information regarding their child in this way.
If KACO learns that a child age 12 or younger has submitted personal information, KACO will send a one-time only email response to the email address provided. Then the child's personal information will be deleted.
Q#4: What choices do I have about KACO collecting, using, and sharing my information?
As KACO does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information on kids age 12 or younger, if a parent, or primary caregiver, believes their child has erroneously submitted an email form on a KACO website, the parent, primary caregiver, may contact KACO by sending an email, using the KACO "Comments & Suggestions" form, or contact KACO by postal mail, to ask that we review our files for, and delete, the specific information.
In order that we may assist parents with an inquiry or request, please include the following information (child's name, parents name, parent email address or email address used to submit the original email, form to KACO). Upon receipt of such notification, we will review our files for any matching stored information, and will delete any specific information requested, that may be found.
Almost all services on KACO sites are offered without our collecting any personally identifiable information. Kids can surf KACO's Web sites and view our content anonymously without giving out any personally identifiable information.
Note Regarding Parental Consent
In many cases, a site must obtain parental consent before collecting, using or disclosing personal information about a child.
Q#5: The kind of security procedures in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under KACO's control, and what type of security does KACO provide?
The importance of security for all personally identifiable information associated with our Visitors is of the utmost concern and a top priority at KACO. We have taken careful measures to prevent the loss, misuse, and alteration of your information.
KACO takes administrative, technical, and physical security steps to protect all visitors' information. However, you should know that submitting information via an online form, email, and/or text communication is not necessarily secure against interception. So, if your communication includes information that you prefer not to use in an online form, please contact us by postal mail rather than submitting an online form, email. If you choose to contact us by postal mail, we may also use the information you provide in the ways we have described in this privacy policy.
All KACO employees and volunteers are aware of our privacy and security policies. Information submitted by you will be accessible to those persons who need it in order to perform their jobs.
You can also help protect the security of your own personal information. For example, never give out your real Name and Password; when surfing Online remember, before you leave, sign out of any account and close your browser window when you finish. This way, if other people use the same computer, they won't have access to your information. Ask your parent(s), or primary caregiver to help you read and understand Privacy Policies and Statements. And always ask and answer the 5 W's first. "Who, What, When, Where, and Why" someone needs any of your Personal Information. (See KACO "Privacy Tips").
Q#6: How do I correct, update, or delete my personal information?
Notification of Changes
To reflect company and Visitor feedback, KACO may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. If we make any material changes in our privacy practices that affect user information collected through our site, we will post a prominent notice on our web site notifying parents of the change. The word "updated" will appear next to the Privacy Policy link on the main front page of the KACO site. Material changes to this Privacy Policy, or changes in how KACO will use personal information, will be prominently posted prior to the implementation of the change. We encourage the periodic review of this Privacy Policy, and the Privacy Policies of other Web sites you choose to visit.
